What is a Partial Hospitalization Program?

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a type of outpatient treatment program that provides treatment to people struggling with addiction. A person entering a PHP requires a higher level of care than an outpatient care provides. People in a PHP receive comprehensive treatment services and medical monitoring during the day.

A PHP offers outpatient addiction treatment services such as drug counseling, individual and group therapy, access to medical care, and medication if needed.

At our center, people attend the program 4 to 5 days a week for 5 hours each day, while still residing at home.

Individuals entering a partial hospitalization program may be using it as a “step-down” service after receiving treatment in an inpatient program.

What is Low Intensity Residential Services?

Low intensity residential services are designed for individuals who need minimal support. These services provide a safe and comfortable living environment for individuals who require assistance with daily living activities. Low intensity residential services are typically provided in a group home setting, where individuals can receive support from trained staff members 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

At Mainspring, individuals will stay at our low intensity residential for approximately 30 days to gain the skills and clinical support needed to be able to advance back into society after completion of treatment.

The goal of low intensity residential services is to help individuals achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life. Staff members work closely with individuals to develop personalized care plans that meet their unique needs and goals. These care plans may include assistance with medication management, meal preparation, and other daily living activities.
